One year One Allotment One Woman

18/4/11

After a five year wait, in-fact I had forgotten that my name was on what I assumed was a long list, a phone call with the offer of an allotment within walking distance of my house.

Well, even the fact that the patch was in a shameful condition did not deter me from accepting the challenge.

So armed with a pick axe, fork and spade. I launched myself into clearing the ground. keeping a steady pace working for an hour and a half every day, by the end of the week a small piece was ready to plant three short rows of early potatoes and get a pit 3 ft x 3ft square with muck and sieved earth incased in a wooden frame ready for planting Courgetts.

A good weeks work!!

One Year One Allotment One Woman: Week two

One Year One Allotment One Woman: Week two: "Second week of heavy digging. made easier by very dry weather. Covered the raised bed with bubble-wrap to generate heat in the soil. Out on..."

  1. Hi Kirsten

Thought I'd check to see how your allotment is getting on. Very impressive! Looking postively established!
A suggestion:- Having the 'Week Number' is all very well, but an attached date would be better.
